The movie is produced by Kisha Imani Cameron (Spike Lee’s ‘Bamboozled’) with a script from first timer Rob Davis

NEW DARK NEAR Producers David Bixler and Amy Kaufman are prepping a remake of the classic NEAR DARK for Rogue Pictures. Matt Venne (WHITE NOISE 2) has landed the job of preparing a script for the new version which will try to retain the ‘realistic’ approach of the original. (Why a remake? Why not the long mooted sequel? Perhaps the original cast are considered too old if this one’s a success and leads to the ‘franchise’. Sequels by committee anyone?).

ABATTOIR Happy Cloud Pictures are about to begin filming ABATTOIR, written and directed by Mike Watt and starring his partner Amy Lynn Best. It’s about what happens when the fragile peace between a group of vampires and a bunch of Irish gangsters is shattered and the bloody aftermath. The cast also includes Bill Homan, Stacy Bartlebaugh-Gmys (now there’s a mouthful) and Aaron Bernard. Don (THE DREAD) Bumgarner of Cleveland F/X will supply the special makeup.
